Our founder and lead attorney Emily Rose has been lacing up her skates and taking hits with the Roller Betties for years.  The Betties know Emily as skater #911 "Law & Diss-Order."  She knows what it means to plant your feet (or wheels), hold your line, and refuse to back down, on the track and in the courtroom. The same fierce focus that makes a great blocker makes a great advocate: read the situation fast, protect what matters, and never let the opposing team push you around.

Roller derby is not a sport for the faint of heart. It demands physical courage, split-second strategy, and the kind of trust in your teammates that only comes from showing up, week after week, fall after fall, and getting back up every single time. The Roller Betties are a non-profit organization run entirely by their members, athletes who hold down day jobs and family lives and still somehow manage to train hard, organize events, and give back to Bellingham.
